BMC Biophysics – a new BMC-series journal

PMC Biophysicshas this week re-launched in its new format asBMC Biophysicswith an expanded scope andEditorial Board. The ‘P to B’ transition is the consequence of integrating PhysMath Central journals into existing Springer and BioMed Central portfolios which has resulted in this very welcome addition to theBMCseries.

的一部分BMCseries,BMC Biophysicswill “fill its own niche in theBMCseries alongsideBMC Bioinformatics,BMC Medical Physics,BMC Structural BiologyandBMC Systems Biology”, says Elizabeth Moylan,BMC-Series Editor for Biology, in hereditorial.

BMC Biology, the flagship biology journal of theBMCseries, marks the recruitment of the journal to the series with two specially commissioned articles: a whimsicalretrospectiveon biophysics from Walter Gratzer and a forward-looking Q&A asking ‘What is biophysics?’ from Huan-Xiang Zhou, a valued Editorial Board member of the journal both asPMCand asBMC Biophysics.

BMC Biophysicspublishes articles in experimental and theoretical aspects of biological processes from the microscopic to macroscopic level, including thermodynamics, structural stability and dynamics, molecular biophysics, signalling, novel biophysical methods and computational biophysics.

The journal launches with athematic seriesof articles on Biological Diffusion and Brownian Dynamics, highlighting the latest research in this rapidly advancing field, guest edited by Rebecca Wade and Paolo Mereghetti of the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies and Andy McCammon from UCSD.

BMC Biophysicswill be exhibiting at the Biophysical Society 55th Annual Meeting in Baltimore, USA on 6 – 8 March, please come and visit us at Booth #744.
