Later this year,Genome Medicinewill publish a special issue on the topic ofSingle cell analysis: into the clinic. This issue will highlight the rapid advances that have been made in the separation, detection and analysis of genomic and proteomic material in single cells and how this approach will inform our understanding and treatment of disease.

The publication of these articles will be coordinated with a series of commissioned reviews and opinions written by leaders in the field including:

The Editors ofGenome Medicineare now accepting submissions of manuscripts employing single cell techniques in the study of human health and disease, analyses of circulating tumor cells as well as methodological, technological and informatics developments in this field. We welcome research across thescopeof the journal – genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and systems approaches – with an emphasis on analyzing individual cells.
